Stormy Weather Forecast Delays Festival Debut

The new Heritage Jazz Festival in Haslett Michigan is delayed because of bad weather.

The wet and rainy forecast for the weekend caused the Haslett event and a similar one (about 100 miles away) in Grand Haven to be postponed. Both dates will be rescheduled according to festival promoter Charles Nevett III.

Concert goers who hoped to take advantage of a free afternoon of smooth jazz in Haslett were disappointed.  Most are still excited about the opportunity of a future date at the Lake Lansing Park Amphitheater or indoors if weather is a factor.

Saxophonists Tim Cunningham and Lord Yancyy, guitarist Hiro Homma, Lansing’s 496 West and the WayStation band were scheduled to perform.

Specific details about the new date and location are expected to be announced by the promoter shortly.
