The Lansing Black Chamber of Commerce (LBCC) is pleased to announce that it will once again host its Community Pillar Awards Gala on Saturday, April 25, 2015. The Community Pillar Awards is LBCC’s annual black-tie gala, which honors five individuals and/or businesses that exemplify the spirit of our 5 Pillars of Service. This year’s event will be held at the MSU James B. Henry Center for Executive Development from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Cocktails & Hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 pm, program will commence at 7:00 pm. The theme of this year’s event is aptly titled, “Building Pillars That Lift a Community.” The 2015 Community Pillar Awards Gala will afford the LBCC an opportunity to provide a fitting tribute for the invaluable contributions of our five notable honorees to the Greater Lansing community and the State of Michigan.

The esteemed recipients of the 2015 Community Pillar Awards are: Dr. Roderick Stepter, Paula D. Cunningham, Dr. Hilton Thomas, Dr. Joan Jackson Johnson and James R. Riley, Jr. Our Special Guest for the evening is Thomas F. Stallworth, III, Former Michigan State Representative, District 7. Also, The Honorable Judi Brown Clarke will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies, during the formal program and awards ceremony. We are proud to honor the accomplishments of these worthwhile individuals, who have all exhibited a longstanding commitment to supporting the Greater Lansing business community. We are confident that this year’s Community Pillar Awards will be an awe-inspiring evening filled with music, tributes and fellowship. The LBCC looks forward to hosting the Community Pillar Awards for years to come. We trust that the event will become an important catalyst to promote entrepreneurism, as well as, laud the accomplishments of community leaders that have distinguished themselves in business and industry.
